Founded in 2015 by Pitmaster Dean Sparks, Sparks BBQ has quickly become the leader in authentic BBQ in all of Michigan and likely further. Sparks is a self taught pitmaster learning in his backyard and through years of practice and dedication he has perfected the craft of BBQ. In 2015 he decided to take it on the road, literally, with a mobile pit style bbq food trailer in downtown Traverse City. Delicious food and great customer service. I ordered the burnt ends and my wife ordered the ribs. I've had real Texas BBQ before and this is great if not better.
Pulled pork, mac and cheese, beans and coleslaw were all really good. Tough to find really solid bbq in Michigan but this didn't disappoint.
I came here with friends for lunch and it was a great experience!! The food was amazing, I had the pulled pork and the mac and cheese and it was fantastic. The service was excellent, especially our host Brendan who was exceptionally friendly.
Just got carry out from Sparks. Great customer service on order and the bbq was fabulous It will be a definite stop when we are back in Traverse City.

Thoroughly enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. Others in my party loved the ribs, Mac and cheese and cornbread. Highly recommend.
